Another win for the Angels. One more to break the curse. The pitching is definetly the star of this series.

I think Twins got Screwed in that game. That ball that was hit down the linewas a fair ball and the Twins coulda scored in that inning. However the twins had the bases loaded with nobody out in that Inning and was not able to score. Still though a very bad call from that ump last night I have a feeling Instant Replay is in the near future for MLB.
Anyway it will be very interesting to see if Philly and Colorado plays tonight. It is snowing in Denver right now and it's atleast in the 20's I heard we are suppose to get most of our show this morning though.

Umpire doesn't give Detriot first on a hit jersey. Bad calls on the bases. Check swing calls that were wrong. Yesterday I turned on the Boston game. Becket who wasn't striking anyone out - he had like 2 in 5 innings - got a strike out call on a pitch 6 innings outside - they put up the box. etc, etc, etc...

It somehow got evened out by the fact that the Twins got at least three strikeout through pitched that were outside the plate by almost a foot. The umpiring crew did a very bad job overall. Twins should blame nobody but themselves though. The baserunning blunder by Gomez and their inability to score in the 11th was the decider in that game

Scott Kazir is the starter for the Angels, and he has always dominated the Sox (especially at Fenway, when he was with the Rays), and the starter for Boston is Clay Buchholz, who, let's just say he's 1-2 with a 6.35 ERA against the Angels in his career (his only win came in 2007), and he did get knocked for 13 runs in his last two starts. I think a sweep is in order. If they fail to win, then in game 4, the Angels have Saunders pitching, who is undefeated at Fenway. Boston is definetely weaker than their previous years.

Anyway, not up on The Angels Red Sox match-ups as much but I know from the Dodgers I want a 3-0 sweep as I don't want to have to face Carpeneter and Weinright again in Games 4/5.

Hopefully the Angels can sweep cause we wouldn't want to face Lester and Beckett again. The fact we won against them was a miracle. They did their best, but Lackey and Weaver just outdueled them. Now that they used their best pitchers, the Sox have nobody left. Dice-K is out, Wakefield is out (although he has never pitched well against the Angels, especially since he is the easiest pitcher to steal bases on cause of his slow pitches, not to mention that their catchers are lousy at defense and can't pick off for jack, as seen in game 2), Penny is gone, so all they have left is Buchholz, and his history is not very good either. The Angels have Kazmir and Saunders for the next two games, and backup relief by Santana and Palmer, so the Angels have the advantage in the pitching department too. I think the Sox are done.

Re: 2009 Major League Baseball Discussion
LA contines to look like the best team in the NL as they have all year. Nice going. I think even a lot picked the cards based on their pitching and big hitters.
So stupid.

LA has not looked like the best team in the NL all year, just an FYI.
These playoffs have been BORING.

These playoffs have been BORING. well considering you said they wouldn't even make the playoffs, I expect negatives from you but record wise, they have for 95 % of the year. so yup, it is true. anyway, who else would it be?

Re: 2009 Major League Baseball Discussion
Why don't they expand the baseball playoffs to 7 games instead of 5 in the first round. It seems quite a waste of a Very Long season to get bounced 3-0 in the first round. I think the players at least deserve a chance to be able to rally from 2-0 down.

Dodgers Games 1 & 2 have been great Yankees - Arod and Tiexiera winning Game 2 was incredible Colorado winning a game - was unexpected and even in the Angels/Red Sox series, I know I watched part of the Beckett game and Boston had the tying run at the plate a couple of times...

The Phillies just need a closer. well it is close record wise with the Phillies alittle ahead but I still will go with the Dodgers...as they did lose like 7 out of 10 after they clinched the playoffs and started resting people and moving people around. If those games were more important, they would have played a better line-up...like the line-up that has just beaten the cards 3 in a row.

YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! The curse is over, the Angels sweep the Sox!!! What a dramatic come from behind victory, with Vladdy coming through with one out left (since he does nothing in the postseason)!!! Donnie Moore can now come out of Limbo and live with Adenhart!!! Let's get the Spankees and go to the WS with the Dodgers.

Congrats to the Angels and Scottie. They just steamrolled. I'll be rooting for you guys the rest of the way. And the Yankees are getting the team they absolutely did not want to face. That'll be a great series.
