Like I said the Lakers had the game so the NBA/Refs had to give it to the celts to make it a longer series. I know there have been questionable calls all series long but in the 4th quarter as the tv announcers point out there were about 5 calls that weren't fouls that the refs just gave to the Celts. And 2 were on Kobe to take him out of the game. And there was no excuse for the refs to miss that Garnett replay call/mistake. His hand was in front of the Laker and basically all over that ball. As the lakers could have tied the score there.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
Obvious statment of the night - Celtics must win Games 4 & 5. Can't go back to L.A. down 3-2. And the big difference was of course Derek Fisher. Great night for him. Ray Allen on the other hand completely disappeared. I'm not even sure it was the Lakers who did it to him. He just shot the ball horribly tonight.

Also, even though it's helped the Celtics so far this series, I don't think I like that new review rule. If they're only going to bother with it for the last two minutes of the fourth, what's the point in even having it?

No one cares if there's a blown call in the third quarter. The problem is that it gives teams an extra timeout. They implemented it for the Finals though. Every moment is critical. And to cut down on the timeout they might as well designate a fourth official to just sit in front of the monitor and then immediately tell the refs on the floor what the right call should be. At most, each call would take 15 seconds. Did they do this because something happened during last year's finals or are they just doing this because every league is now replay happy?

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
Well. Wonder if the Celtics were tired.
And if wasn't just fisher and allen.
Fisher played the 4th like Rondo. But that was just because he was driving to the hoop and the celtics weren't moving to stop him.
So did allen finish with a zero? And remember he was only hot in first half of game 2. As only 1 three was in that second half.
And on the above, only allen has to play better. Well for the lakers. Kobe, Gasol and Bryum didn't play great. Maybe they were tired also?
And odom helped a lot also.
And that was a great game by Garnett. Will he do that again?
And also I would think the celtics would want better games from rondo and pierce. Besides just allen.

Also F U to Rev. Waa waa waa. Just like the past great picks on the Giants in 2008, Yanks in 2009, and that great Jet run in the playoffs.
Lakers gonna win.
And fu to Stern. Not sure who I hate more as both are clueless. Selig or Stern.
As why wasn't the games set for W F Sunday instead of 1 day off where they had to travel.

Thursday and Sunday are prime days for getting higher tv ratings on the networks. If they started the series on a Tuesday so that there'd be more rest between travel. But if the series goes 7 games (or 4 games) they would rather have Thursday be the day to get an extra day since that's the day movie studios most like to advertise.

Does Pierce know the Finals started? Is he still trying to sweep Orlando?
If he can't get it going, the Celts will not win, even if Ray Allen hits 8 three's a game.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
Celtics bench flat out won tonight's game, specifically Glen Davis and Nate Robinson. I remember not too long ago thinking that the Nate Robinson move was just a waste of time. Oops. But, after the Game 3 I wrote that Games 4 & 5 were must win games for the Celtics. They got Game 4, but they need 5 just as worse, if not more. It'd help if they could continue to make their layups. For all of Game 3, and three quarters of this game, they just couldn't finish their shots. That started to turn around in the 4th quarter and that needs to carry over into Game 5.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
Yup. For the second time Robinson and Davis won the game for the Celts.
Also I would love to see a chart of when the fouls are being called. As to start the game in the 1st quarter and to end the game in the 4th quarter, the Celts were going to the line but the Lakers weren't. And as replays were showing, the lakers were being hit on their arms and hands while shooting.
Too bad they either call the game very tight or just let them play...
But after the whiner Doc Rivers cried to the NBA about fouls and the NBA wanting a longer series, the refs sure did that.
And just look how Derek Fisher was in early foul trouble, and any coach could cry about 20 fouls or no calls during the game.
Can't wait to see how the refs now call Game 5 with the series tied at 2.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
And very specifically, how did they missed that BS blocking call on Kobe. He has only standing there for about 2 seconds. I like how Kobe didn't even bother to get up for 30 seconds and he must have been thinking F this.
And you know if this was reversed, it would have been called as a Laker charge.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
I think the refs realized they messed up the Kobe call, so they immediately made a phantom call on Kobe's 3 pointer on the next play, so the Kobe's 3 free throws balances out Pierce's charging field goal + free throw.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
Maybe but like I said. On that play, the defender went through Kobes hand. Before the replay they were saying he just went up. But then after the replay they agree that allen I think went through his hands. So it was a foul as the TV announcer agreed.

Ball clearly doesn't hit rim and none of 3 refs see it. F the Refs and David Stern.

Chip Munkington wrote: Yeah! F U David Stern! Just like Obama! Well stern like you don't seem to want a fair game and you were the one who called Obama the worst President ever. And maybe if Stern would let people complain about the officiating, the refs would get better. But no, anyone who questions a bad call gets fined 100 to 250 k. Yeah that is good for the league.
