Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
So Granderson gets hit by pitch after hitting homer. Talk about a team of gutless players: Lester, Beckett, Papelbon. And after seeing the cheap shots by the Bruins at the end of game 4 last night. Maybe it is just a Boston thing?

Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
With the WildCard, you have to be good against whole league, not just your division.
And I still say, Tampa will make the playoffs over the Red Sox.
So Boston isn't that important to me. As don't think they have the depth to make it through the whole season.

With Joba Chamberlain sidelined for the entire year, I don't think the Yankees have enough depth to make it through the whole season. Who is the bridge to get to Rivera? No one outside of Sabathia in the rotation is going 8+. Maybe they can slip Freddy Garcia in there? Also, Grill, Granderson was hit with a 77mph curveball on the foot. I think he can probably suck it up. A gutless pitcher would've hit him in the head with 94mph fastball.

Maybe, though repositioning his place in the bullpen might be risky.

Back to square one. Sabathia looked great through six, but most of his pitches have seemed to flattened out this inning. Swisher's stumble/collapse didn't help either.

Ortiz is a beast right now, the commentators said it best. There is David Ortiz and then there's Big Papi, Big Papi has returned! 25-10 over the entire series. Dam Yankee Umpires, its a conspiracy. And Beckett wins with a fever of 102 and a stomach virus for Sabathia to go 0-3 against the Sox this year. Sox vs. Toronto and Yankees vs. Cleveland, and Baltimore vs. TB, Yanks could be in third by the end of the weekend. I'm not even sure how you can not be worried Grill. all the experts are talking about the severe weakness in the Yankee's Bullpen (You of all people should know most of their wins have been because of the Home Run-Run ratio and not the pitching) Now the pitching is softer, and the hitting is settling down.

Well 1st of all yesterday's last 3 runs were in mop up time, and during Jeter's at bat, it could easily have been 8-8! So I guess neither team deserved to win.
And again, as Boston's fans make stupid points, without thinking of the stats > Which team has the worst starting pitching, this year?
Boston - 4.20 Total ERA
Beckett - 2.01 Lester - 4.00- Bucholz - 3.82 Lackey - 7.60 Wakefield - 4.84 Dice - 5.3
New York - 3.60 Total ERA
Burnett - 4.3 CC - 2.8 Nova - 4.5 Garcia - 3.8 Colon - 3.3 But he hit into a double play just as easily, so stop bitching. PS, your pitching stats are pretty dumb. The sox had awful pitching the first two weeks, and the worst record in baseball. Taking out the first two weeks the pitching its like this. Beckett- 2.14 Lester- 3 Bucholtz- 3.26 Lackey- 3.67 Wakefield- 4.84 Dice- 2.00 The Boston Starting Pitching has been on fire for the last 2 and half months with a combined league leading 3.15 ERA

And on the ERA, all I did was post the year ERA, sorry but that is the ERA. Or do you also want to adjust for the 4 game losing streak Boston had at Fenway last week. Things balance out, but it should be interesting if they can hold your ERA for the season. Anyway, end results, is the Boston hitters are set up great for the Yankees. But as it is 60 games into the season and you have been wrong so far on the Yankees and Baltimore and maybe Tampa, I will wait and see what happens. So Boston is now 1 win ahead in the loss column after a 3 game sweep, I can live with that.

Also 3 games ahead in the Win column, that stat is a little more important down the road then losses, especially when it comes down to a division, haha

But you go ahead and stick with the numberf that makes you feel better. And I will stick with the number that all knowledgeable baseball people consider. Boston Red Sox > 26 Losses, so far in 2011 New York Yankees > 27 Losses, so far in 2011 Yup, Yankees are only 1 Loss Behind, so I sure hope Rerd Sox don't lose tonight or back to where we started.
