 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
Artest says he will play for lakers for nothing. Which means Ariza is gone for sure. I think lakers would focus on getting back odom. If only they could engineer S&T for Ariza and get a good PG, what Cavs/Magic/Celts/Spurs do wont matter at all.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
Hedo to Portland. So the Magic lost Hedo, Lee, Alston, and Gortat for Carter. I still like the trade but I don't think it's an overwhelming victory
I don't think Turk really makes sense on the Blazers as much as Ariza or Artest would've, but eh

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
Turk makes sense as the Blazers desperately need another player to create shots for himself and his teammates. With Turk, the double teams on Roy will definitely decrease and Roy won't have to carry the offense all the time. Of course, there's that problem of defense, age and money. Ariza wouldn't make much sense because Batum actually has the potential to be like Ariza, while Artest takes a lot of stupid shots.
This offseason has been the craziest in my recent memory. The economy has definitely created a lot of opportunities for the elite to become more elite and the poor to become poorer. The Spurs so far has had the best offseasons since they practically turned their aging players to young productive ones.
Let's see how much crazier this offseason will get.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
Spurs got Richard Jefferson but I think he is on decline. He looked good playing with Kidd couple of seasons for nets. Off late he has been injury prone and inconsistent. He is definitely an upgrade over last year but I dont see spurs beating lakers with this roster. I still like nuggets/blazers more than spurs.

Hedo recedes from his Portland agreement and signs with... the Raptors. Are you freakin kidding me. We now have no resemblance of depth. Again.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
Not sure about the Pistons moves yet. I like Ben Gordon, but they have far too many guards (Stuckey, Bynum, Hamilton, Gordon, Afflao), and this puts them right back to where they were last year with the Iverson and Hamilton situation, except now it's Gordon and Hamilton who will be vying for time. Don't know much about Villanueva, but heard he is a defensive liability (like Gordon). So, this leaves them with virtually no frontcourt, and Kwame Brown is the only center on the team. Unless Dumars is packaging Hamilton into a deal for a semi-decent center, then I can't see this as being that great of a move.
As for Toronto and Hedo... terrible move on their part. If they only needed 4 players, they'd be great, but unfortunately you need at least 8 decent parts. Hard to understand why they'd throw away 3 or 4 good players (Marion, Delfino, and a few others) for Hedo, who I think is vastly overrated.

Sheed helps out quite a bit. I'm not sure how the starting rotation will look whether Garnett moves to center or something else, but this definitely helps out. And if we get Hill and he's the Hill of last year...Giddyup!

Dammit... my favorite player (Sheed) moves to one of my most hated teams (Boston). I think I'm going to have to halfway like Boston for a few years now.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
OMG we just pulled off a 3 way trade with Marion to Dallas, Hedo signed and traded for a trade exception, and Memphis getting Stackhouse's unguaranteed contract for cash, where we get Antoine Wright, Devean George, and we get to keep our 8 mil of MLE and LLE rights, whereas we'd have none of those things if we just signed Hedo straight up. It's the most complicated deal I've ever seen but apparently it's through. And the icing on the cake, Kris Humphries is gone!
This makes the Hedo signing 1000x better... Colangelo is the grand master for day

Apparantley the Grizzlies are close to signing Iverson. Iverson, Mayo, Gay, and Zach on the court at the same time... OH MY GOD

I guarantee they don't make the finals, even if 100% healthy.

 Re: NBA 2009-2010 season
Iverson goes to the Memphis Grizzlies! I think this off season cemented his legacy as the biggest "me first" idiot to ever play the game. His refusal to be anything less than a starter, left him with only 1 team that was asking for his services. Instead of sucking it up and playing a secondary role on a contender, he went with a bottom dwelling team which he can be a "star". Over at ESPN they were pointing out that with all the ball hogs on Memphis's roster that they're going to need 4 basketballs on the floor to keep everyone happy. At least this will be an entertaining train wreck this year!

Houston is lottery bound for sure. They have no chance of making it to playoffs without yao/tracy.
Lakers repeat for shu. I think it would be celtics/lakers final.
