I like the Chiefs getting Vrbael. They need veteran leadership on that defense. I am curious to see if Cassel gets traded to the Chiefs next.

 Re: 2009 NFL Season Discussion
Well... There is either a 2nd team trying to get him, or they can't agree on compensation. But anyway, Cassel is gone, and the Pats are getting picks for him It's funny watching Adam Schefter fidget on stage trying to get more information

SI.com is reporting that Vrable and Cassel were traded together for just a 2nd round pick...
Umm... I seriously hope not.

Umm... I seriously hope not. HA! Chiefs +1 Patriots 0 Thats an awful trade is thats true. Well... Maybe. They didn't want the 3rd pick in the draft, too costly for a player that doesn't deserve the money. And they get the 2nd pick in the 2nd round. Cheaper player, but essentially first round talent. Vrable was probably worth a 4th rounder by himself, and Cassel a 1st/2nd. Not as bad as it actually looks since it clears $14 mil in cap room and they actually get something from Cassel, who should have been a free agent. So... Vrable for a 2nd round pick

 Re: 2009 NFL Season Discussion
Great moves for the Chiefs, I think this makes them a contender for the AFC west now. They ened to keep improving their defense but the could go from 2 wins to 10 very quickly.

 Re: 2009 NFL Season Discussion
so some good news this week > Brandon Jacobs signed a four-year contract through 2012 with the New York Giants. ( so do the Giants get to franchise another player and what is going to happen to Ward.)
and on the Pats trade > ???? > not only on the trade for the 34 pick but I am really surpsrised they traded him so fast. Thought they should have kept him for awhile to see if Brady is really OK and isn't hurt at all.
Wonder if the real reason was $$$$$ and they just decided that they didn't want to keep that salary on the team. Because I think that anytime in the future you could have gotten a good trade for him.

No. They don't. Do you follow football? different name but still a jackass I see! anyway, fyi you can understand football without knowing franchising rules. Also how many years ago did these rules even come out. Also look at NFL broadcasters or refs who don't even know all of the plays in the rule books when they are discussing the games. So truthfully big f'ing deal that I don't know about the franchising rules, I really couldn't care less. PS. Guess time for another LOL as your teams both lost the Super Bowl in the last couple of minutes. Cards and Pats. That is soooo sweet.

That'd mean they handed him away for free? BTW: Most agreed they would get a high 1st rounder for Cassell http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-5- ... pick-.html
