They didn't want the 3rd pick in the draft, too costly for a player that doesn't deserve the money. And they get the 2nd pick in the 2nd round. Cheaper player, but essentially first round talent. Vrable was probably worth a 4th rounder by himself, and Cassel a 1st/2nd. Not as bad as it actually looks since it clears $14 mil in cap room and they actually get something from Cassel, who should have been a free agent.

Great moves for the Chiefs, I think this makes them a contender for the AFC west now. They ened to keep improving their defense but the could go from 2 wins to 10 very quickly.

anyway, fyi you can understand football without knowing franchising rules. Also how many years ago did these rules even come out.

Also look at NFL broadcasters or refs who don't even know all of the plays in the rule books when they are discussing the games.
