I honestly don't know who he/she is Anyways, overall, this is a pretty sucky competish. No Michelle Kwan makes it so much duller
Neo, I love Catriona I want her back

The one-foot landing back-flipping French-African prima donna figure skater! I know she's not in it, actually, but I was just saying how much I would have loved the heightened drama. She was great (in all sense of the word, take that as it may).
I still miss Tomba LaBomba. Is that, eh, odd?

Unfortunately, she has never performed at the Olympics as she has elsewhere.
Anyway, not that I know that many of who is skating but I still would like Sasha Cohen to do well.
Always thought she was a nice skater when I have seen her individual performances.

Wow, what a performance by the Chinese girl in the pair program after the horrendous fall while attempting the first quad ever. I was choking up. Way to go!

I'm supporting canada in hockey, coz our teams are too crap to qualify into the competition!
we need more ice rinks in this country- i have to trek to wales for my nearest

Now Canada is on a roll! Jumped up to 7 medals today, with two silvers in the team pursuit speed skating and a bronze in women's skeleton.
And the first person to test positive in a doping test and therefore stripped of their medal was the Russian biathlete Olga Pyleva. She loses her silver medal she had won.
Current Medal Totals:
1. Norway: 13
2. Germany: 10
3. Russa: 10
4. United States: 9
5. Canada: 7
6. Austria: 6
7. China: 6
PEACE, Mike.

I just saw that now! Canada is off to a really good start now. I was worried at first, but they are just doing fine. Plus the Canadian women hockey team are huge favourites to win the gold (dominated all through round robin), and the Canadian mens hockey team have recently started and have shown no signs of being affected by the whole Gretzky hoopla (stupid media), dominating in their first two games. Not only that but the US got off to a poor start with a tie to Latvia! Insane that that actually happened. And I don't know if the Czech actually have Hasek in net or not? The news has been all about how Hasek may not be playing (lost goalie equipment at the airport, or something?). Anyways, the Czech are a possible upset to win, and Hasek not playing will only hurt them.
And if Canada does well in Curling, they could pull off a couple more medals there.
Oh, and Canada could indeed be up another medal soon due to a short-track protest, depending on the CAS's (Court of Arbitration for Sport) response. See story here: http://www.cbc.ca/olympics/sports/short ... 60216.html
Basically, the Bulgarian woman who win silver could possibly be disqualified, moving Canadian Leblanc-Boucher up to silver, and Canada's Roberge could move from 4th place to bronze medal winner. I'm not so sure this is going to happen though. Doesn't sound like it's a big thing or causing an approar. Thought it was interesting news regardless of what happens.
PEACE, Mike.

The men's skating was horrible to watch. So many sucky performances. No wonder Pulshenko won: there was no competition!
Btw, does anyone how many upcoming events Canada is really strong in? I'm hoping we can still make it past 20. Hockey will def. give us 2 more, and curling might as well, as Mike said. So, that's 4 more. Do we have enough people in other events to get another 8? I'd be disappointed if we didn't :-*(

Why????????? How many upcoming events are there in which Germany could win medals? I would love for a country other than Norway or the US be #1.

We're strong for men's skeleton and for women and men's aerial gymanstic skiing sport which i forgot the proper name for. So that's probably 3 more.
We also got a couple of strong speed skaters in the 3000m or 5000m whichever one they haven't skated yet as well as the 1000m.

Well, we wasted a gold medal in the nordic combined team event due to a bad line-up. Our cross-country skiing team has a problem with injuries and illness (Teichmann had to be operated which won't help our relay chances), the long-track speed skating girls left a medal on the ice in the 3000 meter event and the luge men and doubles were a medal short as well. We still have chances in the Bobsled events (expect 4 medals there), every biathlon event and the rest of the female speed skating events, but that's it. 24 is realitic. But to give you some hope: All those events left could end up with gold for us which would put us at #1

TURIN, Italy (CP) - Never mind the NHL and gambling; how about betting on Canada at the Olympic Games? The online betting website PinnacleSports.com set the over-under line on the number of gold Canda will win at the Olympic Games at 7 1/2 and put Canada a distant 42-1 to win the most gold medals behind favourite Germany (11-10), Norway (8-5) and the U.S. (3-1).
But Canada is the leading contender to win gold in some sports, including men's hockey at 5-4 and women's hockey 5-9 and men's and women's curling at 11-10 and 5-2 respectively.
If you took speedskater Cindy Klassen as the 3-2 favourite in the women's 3,000 metres you lost money, but PinnacleSports.com has her listed a top contender in the 1,500 (6-5) and 1,000 metres (3-1). Eric Bedard is listed at 6-1 to capture gold in the 500 metres in short track and Kyle Nissen is the top pick in freestyle aerials at 5-2.
Jennifer Heil came through as the odds-on favourite to win the women's moguls.
Bobsled gets underway Saturday and Pierre Lueders pilots Canada's teams that are medal challenges in the two-man at 9-2 and the four-man at 5-1.
The oddsmakers have made Joannie Rochette the biggest underdog in women's figure skating at 70-1.

snowboarding isn't a real Olympic event anyway. It's like adding Best Horror to the Oscar ballot. But she did get what she deserved.
