Tribe now tied for second place! And in other news, White Sox finally get over that 13 1/2 game hump. 14.5 up now!

If oakland wins the wild card, I have no doubt.

Oakland could have lost 15 of their last 16 games and would still whallop the Sox.

indians would have taken 2 out of 3 the last series vs oakland if it weren't for that dastardly wickman

I think the team with the best record should be able to choose which team they want to face first! Maybe then the Sox could just totally avoid the west coast!

Sox have a 10-14 record against the west, but a 2-7 record against Oakland. *shudders*

well, we're now in second place but also 4 and a half games behind Oakland. This means winning atleasy 2 out of 3 against in the Yankees is crucial. Oakland has got to start slumping sooner or later, and if not, then Angels have to.

From the pitching matchups, you guys have a pretty good chance to sweep the series. If Lee pitches like he has so far this year, that is a good sign for you guys. Even with his 10-6 record, Mussina is hittable if he is off, and that has happened quite a lot this year. As for the finale, Milwood is a tossup, but at this point so is Chacon. He had the one great start in Yankee Stadium, but it will be interesting to see if he can bring that type of performance once again. This guy did afterall pitch with the Rockies.

*The following is information you already know, but I don't care.* :D

If you guys win these two games, you pass the Yankees in the Wild Card race, and would be right behind Oakland. Even though the first game didn't go in the Twins favor, home field advantage will probably kick in sometime during that series, so if things go right for you, you might pick up a full game on them. By the end of the month, who knows? You guys might be the favorites in the Wild Card race.

As for my Red Sox, hopefully Wade Miller will pitch a decent game against Synder tomorrow, who has a great ERA of 8.59, so hopefully he can keep that around there or maybe even a little higher. As for Thursday though, it will be interesting to see Matt Clement once again, after that line drive off his ear. If he pitches effectively, and doesn't flinch enough to effect his game, the Sox might have their premiere ace for the rest of the year.

Oh yeah, Manny had a good night too last night. That was pretty good to see him back at full form. Now let's see if he keeps it up.

Millwood is our best pitcher, so we have a good shot at winning game 3. Mussina killed us last time though, if we can get his number, a sweep is possible.

We need Pronk back if we're gonna challenge A's/Angels for the wildcard though. It does look like Yankees or Red Sox will not be making the playoffs this year.

One of the two will, because of the division. Right now my money is on the Sox, but not just because I am a fan. Later this month we should be getting Keith Foulke back in the bullpen. Once he comes back, Schilling will go back to being a starter, which he has said he has been prepared for, for quite sometime. By the time Foulke comes back, Schilling should be in good shape.

Well I know one will, Im just saying both won't. We'll actually have a new ALCS. Gonna be right down to the wire. Yankees and Sox play each other enough to ensure that.

Oh I know what you mean now. I thought you meant that both teams wouldn't make the playoffs.

4.5 is now the Sox lead, with a win over the Royals 8-5. =D>

YES! That's what I'm talking about!

And those bastards A's finally lost. 3 1/2 games back while still 1 1/2 games above Minnesota.
