Pick six at the end of the half for Eli. Two ugly games in a row for the Giants. And you'll probably need 10 wins to make the playoffs in the NFC this year...

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
Well that was depressing. And we lost Hernandez. But it's a game Arizona controlled and deserved to win.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
I hope Roger Goodell took a good look what happened in Philadelphia today. That game was a shame for the NFL. The officials weren't able to put the ball at the right spot multiple times, they missed so many penalties, they gave the Eagles two Two-Minute warnings. They called illegal contact instead of pass interference at the 5yd line againt the Eagles. And they handed the Eagles the game when they ruled Vicks forward pass a fumble, reversed the call and failed to identify the blantant intentional grounding that happened there. 3rd and 1 instead of 3rd and 11 made all the difference in the game
The refs in the Redskins-Rams game are trying to one-up the Eagles crew. They clearly have to start paying the real umpires. Last week Goodell got lucky, this week not so much

I do think Week 2 judging has been very uneven and slow.

R.I.P Steve Sabol
Passed away this morning of brain cancer, he was 69 years old.
I can't lie, it ripped my heart out when I first saw the news. The Super Bowl VHS video was my first ever when I was a kid, so, I basically grew up seeing the game through his eyes.
Sad day for the NFL, we lost an icon and a first-ballot Hall Of Famer.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
The referees so far have been terrible. So many big names are not putting up numbers yet, but that leads for a very exciting and unpredictable year. 49ers and Falcons are looking pretty great, and the rams are surprisingly solid. Should be 2-0

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
Eli Manning and (surprisingly) Michael Vick are on pace to beat Bree's single season passing record of 5,476 yards.
Eli's monster game against Tampa Bay where he gained 510 yards through the air shows that in any given game he can explode for some huge numbers. I think he'll break the record barring any major shake ups to the O-Line or his receivers or himself obviously.
Vick is such a wild card. As an Eagles fan I've watched both games and can't believe Vick has 688 passing yards in two games. I think I was blinded by all the terrible interceptions he has thrown this year. That being said, if he can cut down on the turn overs and magically stay healthy for the whole season I think he can surpass Bree's mark as well but will probably fall just short of Manning. Realistically though Vick won't be on the field for all 16 games and if that's the case he has no shot.
What do you guys think?

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
After week one last year, Chad Henne was on pace to throw for 6000 yards. It's way too early.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
I agree with Trixster & Magnus -- too early.
If I had to pick, I'd give the edge to Eli.
Vick's health is too much of a concern, and even if he did play all 16 - I think he would still come up short of Brees' record & probably even 5,000. The Eagles are most dangerous/effective when "Shady" McCoy gets 20-25 carries. The air-raid mentality and gameplan puts Vick at too much risk for injury.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
Eli has horrible games too. So... Nobody is breaking the record this year. And I will be surprised if more than one QB makes it to 5000 yards.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
Brown and Bennett will be big Fantasy pick ups. Even if Bradshaw is healthy, I think we at least found someone worth 50 yards and a touchdown a game. I'd say Barden too, but only as a bye card, too many people in front of him. Even so, he was a monster yesterday.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
I would, he with Brown breaking out like that, it'll be tough for him to see to much. Even Scott did better then Wilson.
