Not that Oregon doesn't belong there, they absolutely do. But how can you jump an undefeated team that absolutely crushed you? Oregon was #10 going into the game. I doubt that win over USC is going to move them up 5 spots. Regardless, they should still be ranked behind Boise in the human polls and that should keep them behind Boise in the BCS.

 Re: 2009 College Football Season
One game that was really heartbreaking yesterday was the UCONN Rutgers game. UCONN scores with less than 40 seconds left to take the left and not 12 or 15 seconds later they give up a 60 or 70 yard TD reception. Unbelievable heartache.

 Re: 2009 College Football Season
Quote: WAC commissioner Karl Benson told the Idaho Statesman on Wednesday that Boise State is struggling to schedule a BCS-conference opponent for 2011 — even with the help (and exposure and money) of ESPN behind the effort.
The Broncos are not asking for a return game in Boise. Just one road game. And about 10 teams have turned the Broncos down, according to Benson.
"They're running into a situation where nobody will schedule them, nobody will take them," Benson told the Statesman's Chadd Cripe. Quote: This is part of the problem with the BCS. The easiest way to get into the BCS for big-conference teams is to win games. And it doesn’t matter who you play in your non-conference games.
So why would you risk a loss by scheduling a team like Boise State? Look at what a loss to the Broncos has done to Oregon. If the Ducks had played Portland State in their season opener, Oregon would likely be ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in the country at this point.
Florida is No. 1 and the Gators' non-conference schedule, so far, includes: Charleston Southern and Troy. Quote: If you’re a big-name program, it’s foolish to prove yourself outside of the mandated league games. A monster showdown might be fun to play in, but it isn’t proportionately rewarded by either the voters or the computers. All it does is open you up to a loss, an injury or an emotional letdown.
You’re best served staying home and playing patsies.
This column isn’t about who should or shouldn’t be No. 1 or whether this team could win the games on that team’s schedule. There’s plenty of places and time for those debates.
It’s about how despite the BCS’ claim that it, unlike a playoff, protects the “sanctity of the regular season,” it has actually cut down on the exciting games the sport was built on.
And as coaches increasingly figure out how to rig this silly system, the trend toward the dull has only just begun. So much for all the "Boise should just pick a stronger schedule"-arguments. They are all shitting their pants to play the Broncos.

This is a Must-Win game for Michigan... I really think they need to win 2 of the 3 left for this year not to be a disappointment. I mean... it still kinda is, because of how they started.

 Re: 2009 College Football Season
Boise St should put a list on their school football page of all the schools declining to play them.

I'm actually curious if Michigan has a defense.
If you don't have a defense, that puts too much pressure on your FRESHMAN QB...

If stanford wins it shows how bad the PAC 10 is this year. I still see Oregon winning this game though

 Re: 2009 College Football Season
Oregon fell into a trap game but at least they can afford One loss over USC. Please don't lose again because I don't want to see USC anywhere near the damn Rose Bowl.
TCU is a beast. I loved seeing the stat that showed TCU was 60-1 when holding opponents to 17 points or less. Now if that's not the plan for victory every game I don't know what is.
Boise St is humming along but they ain't passing TCU.
Iowa finally got caught and I'm kinda glad it came at home.
PSU...PSU...what the freak. How does this team just suddenly turn into a ghost on offense when playing a big game at home...at that stadium? I just don't get it.
LSU probably was still going to lose but can a replay fuckup get a play correctly called. Anyone who isn't a blind old geezer could instantly see he got his left foot in while catching and his right toe in while completely catched. I'm so sick of bull crap like that.
Alabama isn't going to beat Florida. They have no chance. There offense is pitiful.
