 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
The injuries to the Giants tight ends might cost them the game.

Down 2, Giants in the redzone at the 2 minute warning. Can't ask for a better game.

How many coaches would have the balls to do that? 2? 3?

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
I'm only bummed for welker cuz if he had come down with that catch the giants most likely lose because of the 1 timeout .
I am happy the giants won though cuz I couldn't bear having to see Brady celebrate.
I agree with belichiks strategy at the end but not with bradshaws idiocy.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
First there was Assante Samuel. Now there's Wes Welker. Congrats Levy. You just had the feeling the game was gonna come down to something like that. And the Pats made too many mistakes (dropped balls). The only Giants mistake was a touchdown.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
That pass to Manningham was a beauty to behold.
And the Giants got really lucky tonight (and this year in a way as well). They had some bad luck with the officiating, but picked up two big fumbles and had that Welker drop that will go down in infamy like the dropped pass from the Cowboys in the last regular season game.
However the way the Giants played in the playoffs, no one can argue that it isn't a deserving win. And Eli outplayed Brady. Once again.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
It's a bitter taste because they beat my Packers. But that pass to Manningham was great.
Welker should have made that catch, but it was not a good pass. More difficult to catch than it looked.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
Welker's drop & Manningham catch were the turning point of the game

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
To me the turning point was something else. After the Brady INT the Giants had 3rd and 7 near their own endzone, threw incomplete but there was an offside penalty. If the Giants put there, the game is over

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
that was a turning point however the drive was impressive.
Amazing pass and the Touchdown was hilarious. He walked through the defense and teased everyone and scored lol!
Last 5 mins was a lot of fun.
Last few superbowls have been very entertaining.

Pretty fun game to watch, as far as Super Bowls go. And I was basically rooting for the Giants so it was satisfying.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
Its not the worst superbowl ever as we all know Magnus cannot remember things (lol joking).
Compared to the type of games we had early last decade, the recent super bowls are way better.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
The commercials were pretty boring overall. There wasn't anything big. I hate how there were maybe just 3 big films that I can recall that put in spots. Hunger Games, Battleship and Avengers.
The Polar Bears things were cute. I've never cared for the beer horses or beer commercials when the focus is beer, however, my favorite ad that I saw was the "Here we go" dog ad. I'd rank my favs as:
1. Here We Go dog beer fetcher 2. Dog loses weight VW commercial 3. Fiat female is really a car 4. The Voice Kill Bill type parody

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
That was a great game. short differential throughout, and much more exciting then 07. Last 10 minutes were pretty insane. And I won $1500 in a pool thanks to them missing that 2 point conversion (I had never been more pissed because of that safety, but it worked out in the end) I don't see how anyone could argue Eli isn't a great quarterback ever again.
Here's to Payton going to the Redskins. But I'd at least want them in different divisions.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
Yeah the Superbowl is growing wildly popular up here in Canada. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/f ... /comments/Around 1 in 4 Canadians watch it now and everyone was raiding beer and chips and having parties with friends and family. Its quite funny a decade ago, the Superbowl was like derided for being so American and now its bigger then everything apart from Olympic Hockey. Ratings have increased from below 4 million from 2007.

Though I wish I had. Glad you didn't succumb to that depressing defeat. I wasn't rooting for the Pats but the only person I feel bad for on their team is Welker since he's a state of Oklahoma product. Maybe next year. Unless Peyton reaches the SB.
