The Oilers were completely outplayed. Roloson kept them in the game. They need to regroup and can't just give up after this.
Ottawa will sweep Tampa, methinks.

Man that sucks for Edmonton, after going all the way to the 5th period. They just need to hang in there, they can do it!
Ottawa came way back and smoked Tampa Bay.
And Nashville squeaked out a win against San Jose. That series will be close, in my opinion. May use all 7 games in the series.
PEACE, Mike.

In reality... Detroit had 80+ shots... because Edmonton blocked 35 of them... lol
I tried to watch the whole game but I only made it halfway through the 3rd period and had to work... but everything I saw was the complete outplaying they did against Edmonton. Roloson was amazing. If he gets tired/hurt... Edmonton is a goner

The Canadiens just DOWNED Carolina, winning 6-1. Huet stopped 42 shots!! He is amazing. Kovalev scored twice, and Bouillon got a goal and an assist. Wonderful game.
This is a great start to win one at Carolina. If we can win all of our home games, we've got the series.
PEACE, Mike.

Carolina'll probably win the next one, but Montreal's clearly got the upper hand in the series. Better goalie is more important than a better offence, I guess.
By that logic, Edmonton should beat Detroit.

By that logic... Legace only let in 2 goals... Roloson let in 3...
Legace > Roloson

Roloson save percentage - 0.947
Legace save percentage - 0.920
Roloson > Legace

Awesome, Edmonton won a much needed away win, since Detroit has a killer away record and won't give them any extra room when in Edmonton. Go Edmonton!!
PEACE, Mike.

Yes, go Edmonton! Glad to see them pull out this win, after a close one in the first game.

Solid game by the Oilers, they actually held onto a lead for once. They need to win at least one at home to stay in the series, but if they lose both, they're done for. If they win both, though, they've definitely got the upper hand.
Where's Chip?

Ugh, Edmonton upsets Detroit (which is good), but then Tampa does the same to Ottawa (not so good).
I'll still stand by my prediction though: Ottawa in 5.

Tampa Bay will beat Ottawa. It will be close, but they will win. Big 3 will carry them.

Ahem... I didn't predict Detroit in 4... thus I knew they would lose at least 1, they always do. But as everyone knows... they have the BEST away record and thus, I am banking on them winning the next two outright.
Also... I didn't get to watch the game today I was so upset.
How many of the games today tied up series'?

All of the games yesterday were won by the away team, so all of those series are tied.

In the early going, it seems that all games tonight will end with the upper-hand teams having a 2-0 lead in the series. With a minute or so left in Period 1, Montreal is beating Carolina 3-0, while the Devils are up 2-0 over the Rangers. In a complete whomping, Buffalo is up 4-0 over the Flyers. Damn. That's a smashing.

Early in the 3rd period, Montreal has blown a 3-0 lead, and are down 4-3. Sucky.
Devils seem poised to take down NYR, with a 3-1 lead mid-way through Period 3.
If the Sabres blow their 6-1 lead over the Flyers, they deserve to be eliminated.

Montreal came back, and are now leading 5-4.
New Jersey's up 4-1, while Buffalo's now ahead 7-2. Both of those teams should win their series.
Colorado's ahead of Dallas 2-0 early.

UPDATE: Carolina tied it late, so that game's going to overtime. Colorado's up 3-0 now.

Habs definitely have the edge in that series. They'll take it in 4 or 5.

Damn, that Habs and Carolina game was amazing! The 3rd period and overtime was so fast paced, I can't believe they actually went to the 2nd OT. I'm happy for Montreal, but while I'm hoping they'll take it I don't think they have it quite in the bag yet. I could easily see Carolina stealing back the next 2. Winning the next game will seal it up(obviously).
Buffalo is friggin awesome, if they play New Jersey in the next round it'll be INSANE. The 2 hottest teams in the league pretty much. For that to happen Ottawa would have to win(favored), as would Montreal(big lead). Very likely.

An Ottawa and Montreal series would be intense where I live. The vast majority are Senators fans (obviously), but the Habs have a pretty solid showing as well. Since Ottawa has only had a team for the past 14 years and everyone prior to that were either Toronto or Montreal fans. Clearly a few still havn't kicked old habbits.

Weird, all the teams that started on the 1st night of the playoffs (April 21st) are tied 1-1 in their series. All the games started on the 2nd day of playoffs are being won 2-0 (Buffalo, Montreal, New Jersey and Colorado winning).
Thing is, NOTHING is over yet. Nothing, for anybody, or for any team. I remember (I think it was last season) when Montreal was down 3-0 in the series against Boston, and Montreal actually came back and won the series 4-3. So, nothing is over until the series is over. Carolina and Dallas look weak, because they lost 2 at home, but it surely isn't over for them. And it especially isn't over for Philadelphia or New York who lost on away games. Things could turn when at home. Who knows.
Good luck to all Canadian teams!!!
PEACE, Mike.

In the past five years or so, Montreal has to easily be the most inconsistent and loopsided team in the play-offs. It seems like ever year they act as a huge spoiler.
