 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
Reports are that Manning will need another neck surgery. Which would probably keep him out for a while.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
I read the article but it doesn't say anything about another surgery.
He's just getting multiple opinions but he also can't throw at per-surgery levels. He could still start the game for a series but not throw.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
Peyton will not be starting a game to just hand the ball off to keep his streak alive. I can GUARANTEE that.

Peyton Manning has been told by multiple doctors not to practice at all this week. Due to his neck rehab, which is reportedly affecting his back & triceps muscle.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
I was watching the SB again on Monday and was amazed at all the drop balls from the Packs receivers. Rogers could've had over 400 yards and 5 to 6 touchdowns. God I'm ready for the season to begin

Dallas Cowboys - The secondary really has me concerned. Even with Rob Ryan, they really haven't showed me any improvement yet. Teams like Philly, Detroit, New Orleans & Atl with great recievers will give us trouble. I do think they'll have a winning record, but miss a Wild Card. Hope I'm wrong.
Houston Texans - Everyone seems to be picking them in the AFC South. I'm hesitant due to Arian Foster's hamstring injury, and because Wade Phillips is standing up Mario Williams on the edge. He just doesn't look comfortable to me. The pressure to win will be too much for this team to handle, imo.
Kansas City Chiefs - Charlie Weiss was a key part of their success last season. His time at Notre Dame is not a reflection of the kind of coach he is. He's a great offensive-mind and is a huge loss. KC's defense is suspect as well.
St. Louis Rams - Sam Bradford will have a good year, and Stephen Jackson will be fresher with a solid back-up now. Their success will hinge on the defense. I don't think Weiss matters. Muir used to be the offensive coordinator for the Bucs when they won the SB, so they should be fine there. The problems for the Chiefs is the their last 7 games are brutual. They play 5 out of their last seven against very good teams, including the Packers, Patriots, Jets, and Steelers. They need to get off to a very hot start in their first 9 games to make the playoffs. Not sure if they can do it. I actually expect them to be a better team but wouldn't be surprised to see them win less games. They could finish 8-8 and play better than they did last year. They had a very easy schedule last season.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
Well I guess it's almost official. I looked on ESPN today and on their page they have an article saying Manning had another surgery today. He may not even play the season at this point.

Matt Cassell will start against Buffalo, but his rib injury is a concern. Hope he stays healthy.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
It sounds like just bruised ribs so he should be fine. They need to run the ball well and they shouldn't have any trouble. The good thing is the Chiefs are a young team and they should keep getting better. Even if they lose more games this year. They have set themselves up to have a good team for the next 5 years.

I know everyone's been saying it, but this really is a "David Robinson misses the year, draft Tim Duncan" situation for the Colts with Andrew Luck next year and the worst team locking up #1. God damn Colts
