I've been a diehard Pats fan since birth, through many a crap years, but I am not even thinking about AFC champoinship game till they can string together to back to back wins...something you need to progress int he playoffs. Its been a win followed by a loss all season, and both the wins and losses have been rather ugly. Lucky for us the rest of our division sucks too, so we can still win that, but unless something drastic changes this year is not looking to get nay better. We're halfway through the season and things keep looking worse and worse. I shall keep cheering for them as I always do, but I am not even thinking postseason anymore.
*sigh*

It's not the end of the world. We can always wipe away our tears with our three super bowl rings.
If we don't make it to the playoffs this year (Which I still do not think will happen, we are only at 4-4.), all the injuries will heal up, and we'll be back at them next year.
