Nevertheless, there's a reason he dropped to 24. I won't bet all my money right now that you found your new franchise QB with him..

Oh trust me I'm not sold on him at all. But he was the pick to make at #24.

Interesting 1st round. Dallas got the two picks that should help us get an extra 1-2 wins this year, if we can pick up Cody in the second the story of the 2005 draft will be: Aaron Rodgers slip, Matt Jones, and Dallas.

God damn Crowder is still on the board and we take some Cornerback/Safety from Bethune-Cookman. He better make a good safety or this draft is a waste for the Packers atleast for this season.

Holy shit, Crowder, Hawthorne, and Tuck still left and the Packers take a WR?!?! I've lost faith in Ted Thompson already.

Not for a team with Walker, Driver, and Fergy. They need DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE!!!

Just read Denver picked Maurice Clarett in the first day. That's definitely THE surprise so far. Denver used to be able to find good running backs in the latter rounds, and Clarett will surely be available late tomorrow, if they think he can become another Davis, Anderson, or Portis.

Clarett will be a god damn monster in Denver, it is the one place he can go and suceed.

The eagles had a hell of a draft, they seem to like undersized players as about everyone they got from DT to OLB to RB is undersized. Regardless, a good draft and I am happy thus far ... we should be big players come day 2 since we have 10 damn picks left.

Clarett can certainly succeed. I'm not questioning that. It's just that Broncos doesn't need to spend a 3rd round pick on him. They can pick him up in the 5th round or later. The risk of him being snatched away before then is minimal.

Okay, first day recap: Dallas is clearly the big winner. Parcells did a great job there. Now he desperately needs to try to settle on a Quarterback. I can't understand btw that Dallas didn't send Henson to the NFL Europe. That kid was in Baseball for a few years, he needs to play.

And being a Giant fan, I think they did a very good job with their two late picks they had. Webster and Tuck are both big bargains and help them at key positions. Good job!

and btw, bttf: The Packers did a bad job. Rodgers was a lucky incident, but he won't help them in the next year (maybe not even in the first three years if Favre doesn't quit). And that's the whole story, they didn't use a single pick to address immediate needs...

BUT: They have three 4th round picks, and there are A LOT of quality players left

As long as they draft defense, I wouldn't be surprised if they draft a OL or TE right now. ](*,)

Yeah I know I know, but Larry Beiglthol is the best O-Line coach in the league, so maybe he can turn him into something.

Marion Barber III is a good pick for Dallas. They have done very well this weekend.

Maybe Auburn did have a case for the National Championship this year. 4 players drafted in the first round  2 in the top 5 and 3 in the top ten!

Ronnie Brown RB- #2 Pick
Carnell "Cadillac" Williams RB- #5 Pick
Carlos Rodgers CB- #9 Pick
Jason Campbell QB- #25 pick

Just imagine if Leinert and Bush had left USC this year. They'd have went top 10 for sure. USC would kill Auburn. Hell, I think Utah could have given them a good run.
