Re: 2010: Just another Yankees World Series Win Upcoming, #28!
2 interesting points from the above article.
Not they have even started anything but I think Lackey and Holliday would be OK additions! Think Figgins is another goodie > maybe some of these for the Dodgers also!
and on Petitte, retiring at 37! WTF. He is going to spend months at home wiht his family. Then for like 10 Million More, he should play a couple more years if the team wants him and then he banks the money for life.
****************
But which players will the Yankees add for their title defense? Are the likes of John Lackey(notes) and Matt Holliday(notes) in the mix?
“Basically, you have got to get after it,” general manager Brian Cashman said Thursday. “It pretty much comes pretty quick. I’ll be in Chicago with the other GMs on Monday. Two trades already have taken place.”
************
The 37-year-old Pettitte needs time to decide whether to retire or return for a 16th major league season and try for a sixth World Series ring.
“I have to talk with my family,” he said.

Yup. And the Bullpen sucked at that time before they inserted Phil Hughes in that slot. I'd post that any time. You probably doesn't know that because you only jumped on the bandwagon when they were winning, but the first part of the season was absolutely ugly

You probably doesn't know that because you only jumped on the bandwagon when they were winning, but the first part of the season was absolutely ugly wow, cause you just didn't undestand and were clueless. FYI, Arod also was hitting like shit for the first month and CC didn't pitch great for the first couple of months while things were adjusting. Anyway, sounds like usual with you jumping on and off the Yankee bandwagon all year wrong. Betting that they would close out the Angels and your other bitching about the team without having any faith. Whatever. If you bothered to read any of the posts from the other thread, you would have seen that I have been posting for over 2 years of their behalf - so didn't jump on anything, ass.

and the laughing stock Red Sox keep on with the moves that will keep them fighting for the wild card or 3rd place > Marlins trade Hermida to Red Sox.

A-Rod was not retired once during the first month! whatever to the haters.... Yanks are the champs. fyi, the first month that he played....started in May and was hitting 230 in the beginning of June and 210 by the end of June, which was almost 2 months later. And since they didn't even get past the Red Sox until after the All-Star game when Teixiera, CC and AROD all started having time to play together....and LEVY, when they had relief pitchers come off the DL as they had too many people on the DL early.
