Kidding, as always. Both teams played well, and Detroit deserved it. Can't blame the Pens for trying though!

 Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
To the crowd in Pittsburgh's credit, I don't think anyone has left yet. And it was nice to see how they saluted the Pens. Lucky for them though, they'll probably be back next year. That's of course if my Bruins don't have anything to say about it.

I'd be steamed if I was actually in the arena right now, but I'd still stay for it. It only happens once a year, hometown win or not.

 Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
To be frankly honest, I'm glad the playoffs are over. It's been exhausting for the most part, and I do think that even if the Pens won it tonight, the Red Wings would've won it in Game Seven. The Pens won two games by very, very small 1-goal margins (as did the Wings in their last two wins), so a Game Seven in Detroit would've likely been a blowout for the Red Wings.
So... I have a break for a few months until the new season starts. And I'm gonna enjoy the fuck out of it!
See you in '08/'09, people.

 Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
I am SO drained from the playoffs!!! It's finally over, and the Wings are back on top, as it should be! Osgood played just like himself, JUST good enough to win. He and the Wings need to work on letting teams in behind the net and just letting them be. But again, their defense played OUTSTANDING. Fleury played great, but his biggest weakness finally caught up to him. He needs to control rebounds. Great series! And this should only help the NHL... IMMENSELY!!!

That last shot at the end was harrowing. I thought it had gone in until all the Red Wings were cheering.

Boo Detroit winning. I think everyone wanted the Pens to win (outside of silly Wings fans, of course). Pittsburgh will win next year though. COUNT ON IT.

I dunno, losing Hossa could be a blow, he was superb these playoffs I do think Staal will start to find an offensive touch next year though, and Malkin will probably show up for the finals if they make it back there.

 Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
I feel bad for Fleury. His slip-up with the puck gave Detroit their winning goal for the night.
Where's Hossa goin'?!

 Re: The NHL 07/08 thread
Well he's an unrestricted free agent, so while Pittsburgh could cough up the cash decide to keep him, he could also take advantage of his good performance here and get a big pay day from someone else. Malkin's contract runs out next summer too, so they need to save some cash for him too.
