It is, indeed, a great treat when you have a movie like “Wedding Crashers”. Unlike other comedies lately, though, “Wedding Crashers” features two members of what the media likes to call, “The Frat Pack”. “The Frat Pack” is the combination of Hollywood’s funniest men at the moment, Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, and Luke Wilson, among others. These five almost never star in a movie without another one making some kind of appearance, whether it is a lead role, supporting role, or minor cameo. Their latest film is “Wedding Crashers”, which could quite possibly the funniest film since “Anchorman” and “Old School”, two other films of “The Frat Pack”.

“Wedding Crashers” stars rising stars Vince Vaughn (“Dodgeball”, “Old School”) and Owen Wilson (“Starsky & Hutch”), two divorce mediators in Washington D.C. who have a passion for the art of wedding crashing. Passed down to them from the legend only known as Chaz, John (Wilson) and Jeremy (Vaughn) use the long set of rules for wedding crashers to sleep with the women of random weddings. Their enjoying life, and everything seems to be going right until they stumble upon the biggest wedding of the year; the wedding of Cabinet secretary Cleary (Christopher Walken). Little did John expect, he would meet the girl of his dreams instead of a one night stand. That girl would be the bride’s sister, Claire Cleary (Rachel McAdams). Unfortunately, Jeremy doesn’t have the same luck meeting the bride’s other sister, Gloria Cleary (Isla Fisher), a psychotic girl who won’t let Jeremy leave her sight.

Being the first, raunchy comedy since “Old School” and “American Wedding”, a lot were hoping for “The Frat Pack” to deliver like they usually do. Lucky for us, they succeed with flying colors. Don’t let the raunchiness fool you, though; “Wedding Crashers” is the ultimate chick flick. From what looks like a movie filled with F-words, sex, and some stupidity, “Wedding Crashers” adds the sweet touch that women can enjoy. The movie works, mainly thanks to Vaughn and Wilson. For those who didn’t think Vaughn was that funny in “Dodgeball”, here’s where Vaughn is laugh-out-loud hilarious. His relationship with the psycho sister, Gloria, worked well. Both have a wild side, which made it more entertaining to watch. Wilson was also a pleasure, though didn’t add as much humor as Vaughn did. His relationship with McAdams wasn’t pushed to the limit, but it was good enough to be considered a chick-flick kind of love.

“Wedding Crashers” also worked because of the supporting cast. The whole Cleary family was entertaining to watch. Todd, the only son of the family, was hilarious. His character was a gay artist who takes a liking for Jeremy in the process of their stay at their shore house. Kathleen, the drunken mother, was also fun when she takes a liking for John. The best of the supporting cast happened to be Gloria, who was not only extremely wild, but sexy in a psycho-kind-of-way. McAdams gives a performance on par with her other great performances in “Mean Girls” and “The Notebook”. At the moment, I see her as the best young actor with a lot of talent. Who knows? She might be looking at an award or two within the next year or two. And, for those who haven’t seen it, look out for one of the greatest cameo appearances in quite a while.

“Wedding Crashers” accomplishes to be the biggest crowd pleasing comedy in years. The good story, with great leads and supporting casts, backed up by some incredibly funny moments, and gives us one great summer treat. “Wedding Crashers” is the funniest and raunchiest film I’ve seen in a long, long time. The new “American Pie” is here.
