With the kind of reputation video game movies have, its no surprise that each has to go a little out of its way to differentiate itself from the stereotype that has been created. Doom may be one of the biggest games of all times but then again, so was Final Fantasy. Resident Evil has seen box office success but it doesn’t have exactly have the favor of the critics, nor most of the audience. So what is Doom willing to dish out that might convince people to give a video game adaptation a chance?

>First person perspective! Doom can be hailed as the father of first person shooters. The entire concept is what has made this entire genre of gaming such a big success. Doom will also be the game bringing this concept to the big screen and I must say that the results are spectacular or orgasm inducing.

While the music, story line and dialogue seem nothing more than generic, the real selling point and really, the sole point of this entire trailer is to display the first person perspective. There will be little disappointment here. The look and feel is exactly like the game with added realism. A particular scene depicting a chain saw might become a fan favorite.

It seems like a lot more ‘could’ have been done with the movie but as of this moment; I’m sure the level of interest in watching this movie must have skyrocketed amongst the gaming community.
