 Nosferatu (2024)
Quote: Nosferatu is a 2024 American Gothic supernatural horror film written and directed by Robert Eggers. It is a remake of the 1922 German film, which was in turn based on Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula. The film stars Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe.
Nosferatu had its world premiere in Berlin, Germany, on December 2, 2024. The film was released in the United States on December 25, 2024, by Focus Features domestically and Universal Pictures internationally.

 Re: Nosferatu (2024)
Great costumes and sets, but the whole shaking-uncontrollably-as-Dracula-bangs-her-in-her-dreams thing gets a bit repetitive. The film also commits the cardinal sin of telling us what the ending will be and then delivering exactly that. Either don't tell us and reveal as it happens, or pull out a twist.
Johnny Depp's nepo baby spawn has a bright future playing medieval Black Plague victims.

Quite liked it. And yeah, Lily Rose-Depp waa surprisingly very strong, good for her.

 Re: Nosferatu (2024)
Nosferatu is a handsome mostly engaging production with good performances, though its slightly convoluted plot and bloated run time keep it from being a classic.

 Re: Nosferatu (2024)
Very cinematic. I didn't mind seeing it in theaters even though an Eggers film is always a risk. This is probably his best so far ... but its also still plagued by issues with the pacing and dialogue. I laughed at a few lines that were definitely not meant to be funny (though not as many as in Trap.) The whole voyage of the demeter section should have been cut. And Lily Rose Depp could fit an entire dark universe on her forehead. Still though, I appreciated the striking gothic imagery and if anyone is into that then Nosferatu is a must-see despite all the other problems.
5.5/10
