 Press Play
Quote: Laura (Clara Rugaard) and Harrison (Lewis Pullman) have the picture-perfect romance built on the foundation of a shared love of music. After a deadly accident, Laura is given the chance to save the love of her life when she discovers that their mixtape can transport her back in time. Featuring a moving soundtrack with songs by Japanese Breakfast, Father John Misty, Dayglow and more, Press Play reminds you that love can always be replayed.

 Re: Press Play
I drove to a theater an hour and a half away to see "Press Play" because of my love for Lewis Pullman. I always make an effort to support his movies on the big screen. I apologize in advance if this review is primarily me thirsting over him.
It was going to be difficult for me not to enjoy this movie. I'm a sucker for a beautiful, sun-drenched location, and I really liked the story. I believe in the transporting power of a great song. The way they can carry us to different emotions, memories, and experiences is magical. I found the story's take on this concept intriguing.
The movie does have its shortcomings, primarily a rushed first act that leaves insufficient time to develop the romance between the main characters before the protagonist's premature death. With a fairly brief runtime of only an hour and twenty-five minutes, they could have easily expanded it without it feeling bloated. Even an additional 15 minutes could have significantly enhanced the emotional impact of his demise. For me, the mere notion of having and losing Lewis Pullman was already quite devastating, so I was emotionally invested regardless. However, I would have preferred for their time together to feel more leisurely and less hurried.
"Press Play" is a pleasant and easy watch. Both leads are likeable, with Pullman being especially charming. If you're a fan of Lewis or romance movies in general, I believe it's worth checking out. It likely won't be the last time I watch it.
