This is interesting and well-shot, and a lot more introspective than you'd expect from a late stage Nicolas Cage movie. I'm not sure it worked perfectly but I did enjoy it. B

I thought this was surprisingly great. One of the more interesting films I've seen in awhile.

Re: Pig (2021)
It's a decent film, but also just nothing special. Cage is good, but he really doesn't (need to) do much except mostly moping around. While it has an interesting story of a mysterious character trying to get back their pet and an overall topic of dealing with loss, the film is pretty subdued in expression. The film is shot in pretty dark environments and except for Cage, who doesn't say much, the acting pedigree is subpar making it hard for me to get really drawn into it. Though its seemingly low budget does not feel wasted, it doesn't excel anywhere either.
