Re: Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight
I liked this Polish slasher film for the most part, but it could have been better IMO. If they had actually stuck the landing with the ending I probably would have enjoyed it more, but its still pretty decent for what it is.
The fact that its from a Polish director and was made in Poland definitely added a unique flavor to it which was refreshing and its very well made and stylish overall.
I loved the look of the killers who were super scary with how they looked and you get plenty of gory kills, but there are also some weird attempts at humor in this movie that didn't work for me and kind of ruined the serious, horror tone at times and I found one character turn to come completely out of left field which just felt random honestly.
I did appreciate that the kids who were the main focus of this movie were mostly likeable and they even somewhat subvert your expectations with a few of them when it comes to them being generic, stereotypical teens.

Its generic and doesn't try to reinvent the wheel but it succeeds in what it sets to do. Similar story done well with some practical effects (which is a big bonus anytime IMO). The main killers are scary enough and the kills gory enough. It does fail in the humor and the very finale needed a bigger hell-ya-we-killed-him moment but overall still a decent watch.

I love a good slasher and it's honestly not that difficult to please me when it comes to them. This is a pretty basic but well-made one. I liked most of the characters and was usually disappointed when one would bite it. There's plenty of blood and some good kills. The cinematography was very nice. I would really like to see a sequel.
