Hmm I actually didn't mind this. It sort of had an 80's Goonies/The Monster Squad feel and I liked that even though I still think this would have been much better with an R-rating. There is no gore in this movie whatsoever and that's just not what I'm use too when it comes to my vampire flicks, but I enjoyed the the three main kids and the vamps were still pretty sinister even if I thought they got taken out way too easily in the third act.

Also, damn is Sarah Gadon gorgeous :wub2:.

This was nice and I felt that the PG-13 works well because then the balance between gore vs comedy would have been difficult to maintain here. The three/four kids do well here and it has a decent little story. There are references to vampires taking over the town which can also be seen as multiple metaphors. The vampires and their motives are great and even without ripping necks they were sinister. The only thing I felt that the finale was too rushed and needed more time to be impactful, Shea Whigham's arc needed more time to breathe as well. I still had fun time with this regardless and should easily be able to inspire new generation of kids into vampires specially this Halloween season.
