Quote:
A woman thru-hiking an isolated trail runs into trouble when her pack is hijacked by two men hiding out in the woods, desperate and on the run. Now, stranded and left to fend for herself, she has a choice: crawl back to her normal life in defeat, or push forward and take back what was stolen from her.

Between Celeste Cooper’s brusquely engaging lead performance, the no-frills directing style, and an easy-on-the-eyes natural setting that creaks, chirps, and scurries with life throughout there’s a lot to like about this tense couple hours in the woods. There are some criticisms (always), but for the most part I found this a good thrill ride and look forward to more from Cooper as well as the filmmakers.

This was surprisingly decent. I don't think it needed to be nearly 2 hours long, but I was never really bored and the lead actress was solid looked pretty damn believable whenever she was being a badass. It's also just the right amount of violent which shocked me a few times in a good way. If this had a tighter pacing and less flashbacks I would have enjoyed it a whole lot more though, because I get what they were going for, but it really ruined the momentum for me honestly.

The poster looks so cheap and is a turn-off, but I might check this out.

Agreed with Dil the flashbacks really bring it down and till the very finale do not add too much to the story. They could have easily skipped those and could have still being meaningful with a mention here and there. The lead actress is very good but the story needed a little more tension and better villains to make it more believable.

Yeah, the flashbacks easily lift right out but I thought the villains were sufficient--an alpha moron and a sniveling coward, easy enough to root against

Yes on paper a lot of things were well thought through but the screenplay and execution are the real culprit. They really didn't do much with the two villains to make them look menacing, the two actors also don't bring much to their characters.
