Post Re: The Pale Door
In the attempt to blend Western with horror it ends not doing justice to both of the genre. Western is a genre that can blend very well horror if handled well but here we get a generic setting this time with witches who need a pure blood to survive for decades. The gore is great the church scenes are done well but these are very short in attempts to bring the machoism of the actors while building the Western settings. If it handled the horror aspect better it would have done better and having Zachary's character survive served this no purpose at all.

I really enjoyed the cast in this, especially Pat Healy, Stan Shaw and Bill Sage who was easily my favorite character and a part of me really did wish he was the lead, but I also didn't mind the performances from David Druid and Zachary Knighton and I actually bought into there brotherly relationship quite a bit.

The sequences with the witches and the gore are both really well done as well, but this movie definitely suffers from a lack of budget and I felt it so many times throughout the movie, especially in the beginning.

C+
