The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival on September 6, 2019. It was released on August 7, 2020, by Samuel Goldwyn Films.

Jack Sparrow KJ's Leading Idiot Joined: Thu Dec 31, 2009 8:15 pm Posts: 36923	Re: Waiting for the Barbarians Great acting from Rylance and Pattinson (in a small role) along with raised emotional stakes and brutality is what makes this an interesting watch. The problem is the ending and political measures that fail to land. Nice to see Depp here but his scenes do not leave any impact. Pattinson steals the show in a small role. It does beg the question about who are the barbarians here.
