Another highly praised horror film that I didn't care for unfortunately, although this one I can kind of understand more as to why critics loved it. It's really well directed and very atmospheric, but it just wasn't for me and this is coming from someone who loved The Lighthouse and didn't mind The Witch or Midsommar. Once again its another horror film that's a slowburn which is honestly starting to feel like an actual trend now with a lot of the horror movies that have been coming lately and while I don't mind it you got to at least give me characters to care about or something about them that makes them interesting or engaging to me, but like The Rental I got none of that here either. The acting isn't the problem as it usually isn't in most of these kinds of films, but I just couldn't get all that invested in it despite the fact that there are some really beautiful, trippy visuals on display in this and when the practical, gore effects are on screen its quite effective and looks great.

Its a film that does not disappoint when it comes to horror and atmosphere but it fails in the final stretch over reveal and the importance of Amulet. Its a slow burner but that suited well for this kind of movie. The gore is all good here but again the final stretch tries to cover storyline with overload of graphics.
