 Re: Force of Nature
There are so many good characters and the generic heist setup is decent but the movie just never brings any tension or urgency to it. The characters go through motions of the script. Gibson easily comes out the best of the lot but the rest of the actors didn't do much here. There is literally no use of "nature" other than rain and some lightning effects.

Sparrow's review is pretty on point. I found it pretty decent and liked pretty much everyone in it making for a nice watch. Though despite it's rumbustious hurricane setting it's not particularly exciting, being staged quite predictably instead. Gibson's role is too small for his stature in my opinion, but it was meaningful and interesting to see him KIA.

 Re: Force of Nature
I'm glad you got more out of this one than I did stuffp, because man did I think this was painfully mediocre. Mel Gibson is easily the best thing about it, but even he felt really underutilized IMO. I even thought Emile Hirsch and Kate Bosworth were pretty solid here, because I liked their chemistry, but this movie just felt too low budget and cheap for me to get any excitement out of the set pieces or the action sequences and I found the payoff at the end with the killer cat super lame considering how much buildup there was behind it. David Zayas and his goons were the most generic crew of bad guys ever too.
