Aww, this movie was absolutely precious. It's nothing new but it's so warm and inviting and crowd-pleasing that it's next to impossible not to love. The characters are so relatable and the father-daughter relationship is so sweet that it honestly made me tear up. Nick Offerman gives a fantastic performance and I hope he gets at least a Golden Globe nomination, he's brilliant here. He's equally matched by a lovely Kiersey Clemons and the two have such great chemistry. I also loved the supporting cast - particularly Sasha Lane, whose romantic plot with Clemons's character is one of the film's highlights. The songs are wonderful and the whole thing is just bursting with life. I adored this. A-

Coincidentally I started watching this on the plane 3 months, but didn't finish it then...watching films on the plan is often too shit, it's good to kill time but some films work just not as good as others in this setting. Saw the first 20min., it was enjoyable, but I've both been too busy and it was quite not that interesting either for me to revisit yet. Would like to see in full sometime.

This is so lovely. Nick Offerman, Kiersey Clemons are both great in this though Toni Collette is wasted in here. The father daughter relationship is handled so well in here and both the leads have great chemistry together. The two love stories didn't have enough time to breathe but Lane and Collette help those make look better than they are here. The final act is great here and damn that progression of characters at the end is amazing because that's how life works.
