Re: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
Although the first half is much better than the second half, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot provides an interesting perspective on modern war and also plays like an allegory for Tina Fey's career. *B*

It's pretty great. Fey is perfect, and the humor is well balanced. I do agree that the first half is better than the second half.

Re: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
For whatever problems it has, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is the best cinematic display of Tina Fey's acting talent to date. While certainly not without opportunities to deliver the witty humor at which she excels, Fey tackles more dramatic beats with nuance and precision. Her performance is what keeps the film running smoothly, even though the script is somewhat weak in its third act and it seems as though some meaningful development of secondary characters might have been left on the cutting room floor.

Loved this. Tina Fey delivers one of her strongest performances yet and is a fantastic anchor for the entire thing, and a strong supporting cast provides ample support as well. It definitely has its funny moments but this is mostly in the vein of something like Eat Pray Love and more of an examination of this woman's journey of self-discovery than anything else. It also provides an interesting perspective on the wartime environment as well and the adrenaline junkie effect it has for people who are over there. A-

Re: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
Tina Fey is great in this. The movie itself has its moments, but it's a bit uneven and perhaps not biting enough. Margot Robbie and Martin Freeman are solid as well, although Robbie is underused. This hits more than it fails, but I wish it had fully realized its potential aside from Fey's performance. B-

Eh... yeah Fey is good in this but overall I wasn't engaged with this. Pacing seemed off.
