 Revenge (1990) Revenge (1990) Quote: Revenge is a 1990 romantic thriller film directed by Tony Scott, starring Kevin Costner, Anthony Quinn, Madeleine Stowe, Miguel Ferrer and Sally Kirkland. Some scenes were filmed in Mexico. The movie is a production of New World Pictures and Rastar Films and was released by Columbia Pictures. Revenge also features one of John Leguizamo's earliest film roles. The film is based on a novella written by Jim Harrison and published in Esquire Magazine in 1979. Harrison, who also wrote Legends of the Fall, co-wrote the script.

Revenge
Pretty good movie. They don't make them like this anymore. It reaffirms my belief that mostly all pre-2000 Tony Scott films are good, and mostly all post-2000 Scott films are crap. The film is very Scott-ish in its cinematography, emulating many shots and atmosphere from Man on Fire and True Romance among other Scott films. It was really great of me to discover a "new" Costner movie. I've always thought that Costner would have been great in so many movies, and I was always disappointed that he wasn't in many - so to find this one that I hadn't seen before, was great. Madeleine Stowe is smoking hot (in the first half) and Anthony Quinn plays the Mexican big boss to perfection. Bit strange how people just keep helping Costner as if he is the Messiah or something, but I'll let that pass.
I guess it is one of the early 90s erotic thrillers, before films like Basic Instinct and Sliver came along.
