Re: Sleeping with Other People
This was another winner. Such a fresh and enjoyable romantic comedy that's consistently hilarious and also thought-provoking about relationships and life in New York. Despite being picked up by IFC it's incredibly mainstream and I think it could do well with a wide release. Jason Sudeikis is at his most appealing and has irresistible chemistry with a scene-stealing and never better Alison Brie, who gives this movie its heart. Also loved Adam Scott, Billy Eichner, Jason Mantzoukas and the rest of the supporting cast. Leslye Headland's screenplay is also fantastic. A-

Re: Sleeping with Other People
Jason Sudeikis and Alison Brie are immensely appealing together and apart, and Sleeping with Other People has moments of brilliance that subverts romantic comedy tropes. However, they are merely that: moments. The film, overall, is cute and has some things to say about platonic vs. romantic relationships. But in the end, it doesn't cover much new ground and ends up feeling like a When Harry Met Sally retread. Still, you could do worse. B-

I enjoyed this a lot due to Alison and Jason's chemistry. In fact there really aren't any faults in the cast just those two do such a good job. The ending conflict was a bit much but the resolution is good enough for the jump they took.

I liked it, it was refreshing, but the very ending was way too dragged out.
Jesus, if I was Jason Sudeikis' character, I'd probably would have lost my dick due to having a 24/7 boner of being around Brie and actually resisting to screw her.

Re: Sleeping with Other People
The film has good leads, and its fair share of funny moments, but it has tedious moments also. It's pretty much a drama-comedy, where the drama mostly doesn't work well for me. It's story is mostly told from Brie's perspective, and I found it too cliched. It's not much better than the average chick-flick. It does however also have a very like-able supporting cast.
