无人区 (No Man's Land)
Good film by a good director. He has vision, and style, and is not afraid to make his film his way. Yu Nan is gorgeous as always, and the film is quite violent (for a Chinese production). There are moments of humour, which really exaggerate Chinese habits. The film, while set in modern day, is a western that stylistically comes from the same brand of highway/lone gunman style movie-making as Mad Max, The Road Warrior and Last Man Standing.
It's one of the best completely Chinese-made films I've seen, but just not as good as Back to 1942.
