Post Re: Highlander II: The Quickening
What can be said about this glorious mess of a film. It takes a film that while had sci fi elements was so simple. Immortals live forever until another cuts off their heads, when one dies, you absorb their power, the last two fight for ultimate supremacy and a final prize, mortality and what not.

Cut 6 years later and my god just holy shit. They just throw in all the outtakes of a Scott and Verhoeven film, add in aliens, magic, plot wholes, and just create a backstory that is not only ludicrous, but also a story that even the most extreme EPA supporter would find stupid. The script is just awful, and sequences are just terrible throughout. Michael Ironside might be the worst villain I've ever had to see on screen.

That being said this isn't worst Highlander sequel. At least when you watch the special edition or 15th different version of this film it at least tries to do something different, and the film itself does have some interesting elements, fights, and cinematography. When it comes down to it, the original was a film that just never needed a sequel. But I do applaud the creators for creating such an absurd reasoning to justify their sequel. If you want to see awful filmmaking watch the original version, they combine scenes together creating all kinds of continuity. But the final version is actually at least watchable. But wow, it's worth it alone just how to see how not to make a sequel

Original F
Special Edition C
