Re: The Apparition Downright toxic. It lasts around 70 minutes without credits, but is still a long sit, and it is never even within a mile of frightening. I do wonder, though, how close the finished product is to the original intent. There are signs of condensing, simplification, and general interference throughout. The second half in particular is defined by disconnected moments and mile-wide gaps in logic and motivation. Even the conceit promoted in the trailer and on the poster (a supernatural antagonist which cannot cause harm if its victim does not believe in it) is nowhere to be found in the film itself. It is not hard to tell this went very, very wrong during production. At least Ashley Greene is gorgeous.
