Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens [Nosferatu]
Nosferatu Quote: Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens (translated as Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror; or simply Nosferatu) is a classic 1922 German Expressionist horror film, directed by F. W. Murnau, starring Max Schreck as the vampire Count Orlok. The film, shot in 1921 and released in 1922, was an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula, with names and other details changed because the studio could not obtain the rights to the novel (for instance, "vampire" became "Nosferatu" and "Count Dracula" became "Count Orlok").

A classic, of course.

Indeed.
I'm having a Murnau year actually, having seen three of his movies at different (non-connected) occasions at movie theatres, in two cases with live music (the other two being Sunrise and City Girl). Will see a fourth film in November

I actually preferred Cabinet of Dr. Caligari to this. While this movie isn't bad, it doesn't leave that horrific punch that I was expecting. Still should be required viewing before one dies.
