Waiting for "Superman"![Image](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b5/Waiting_for_Superman.jpg) Quote: Waiting for "Superman" is a 2010 documentary film from director Davis Guggenheim and producer Lesley Chilcott. The film analyzes the failures of American public education by following several students through the educational system.
The film received the Audience Award for best documentary at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. The film also received the Best Documentary Feature at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards in a tightly fought competition.

Far too manipulative for my liking, but at least it's not as haphazardly put together as An Inconvenient Truth.

Anyway, this tries to be revolutionary but it becomes a bit too obvious. Yes, schools in the projects or in terrible parts of town are going to be shitty. Also, why did the film have to concentrate so hard on these selective schools? Oh this one only accepts 27 a year, this one 8. It became boring and repetitive. Also, the documentarians could of done a much better job choosing who they followed. It seemed to follow much more black kids than you know latinos or whites. Plus, it doesn't take into effect how some parents just don't care what happens with their children and children sometimes won't do anything when every type of help is tried. I didn't really gain info from this and I'm not all of a sudden motivated to go out there and make a change in the education system. Another crappy documentary entry from 2010. I really need to watch the good documentaries from last year like Inside Job. *

Great message, but I didn't like how the filmmakers took advantage of the children they followed. Did we really need to see their lives collapse at the end to get the point?

Loved it. Fantastic film. One of the better movies I've seen in a very long time.
