 Restrepo
Restrepo Quote: Restrepo is a 2010 documentary film directed by American journalist Sebastian Junger and British photographer Tim Hetherington. The film explores the year that Junger and Hetherington spent in Afghanistan on assignment for Vanity Fair, embedded with the Second Platoon, B Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment (airborne) of the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team in the Korangal valley. The 2nd Platoon is depicted defending an outpost (OP) named OP Restrepo, for PFC Juan S. Restrepo, a platoon medic who was killed earlier in the campaign.

 Re: Restrepo
Mr. Incredible has a minor role in this film. Watch out for him!

 Re: Restrepo
Restrepo is a very open look at year in the life of a platoon in Afghanstan. The action is intense and chilling to watch whereas the descriptions of some of the violence that isn't shown is even more upsetting. There are a few scenes that go too long in description and could of been trimmed but this is a good look at the real life of war. **1/2

 Re: Restrepo
I thought "War" by Sebastian Junger was better, but I still liked the film.

I think the book "War" noted that he weighed like 280lbs and was only around 5'8'' but that he wasn't "fat." I was unable to get a good head shot of him, only the body shots. Whatever the name, I do remember one of the soldiers, during the scenes in Italy where the soldiers recounted their experiences and thoughts, looking like Mr. Incredible.

 Re: Restrepo
It was rather meh. Certainly a good documentation, but as a film, I didn't particularly care for/wasn't too memorable.

 Re: Restrepo
It's intense and terrifying and everything, but there's no sense of art or craft to it. It's just raw, unedited footage poured out onto the screen. Which is fine, just not my particular cup of tea.
