Post Re: Inside Job
ROM-COM's are so '00's! Inside Job is yet another terrifying masterpiece in the proliferating genre of HOR-DOC's as we enter the 'Teens.

The central premise is simple:

The degree to which the "Government of Wall Street" exists, is in how much of their bald faced lies you're willing to buy.

But it turns out the whole enchilada has already gone rancid. Mourning time is over and it's come time to pack up the wagons and head for the hills - - judgement day's a comin'!

Funny how we don't receive this message from the corporate media, huh? Coincidence I'm sure...

Director Charles Ferguson (bastard half-brother to Craig ; ), employs a lucidly gripping storytelling spine narrated by Matt Damon and illustrated with dynamic shots, a rockin' soundtrack, and contagious editing style. It's a tour de force of information presentation in the service of public education.

If only all subjects could be communicated with such piercingly clear spoken enthusiasm. Maybe in the next civilization, after the collapse of this one, teachers will be the leaders (at least those not receiving massive conflict of interest payments from our corporate overlords).

Nahhh... forget it. We're fucked.

57300% out of 5.

Post Re: Inside Job
Why does every 'big issue' documentary these days have to be edited like a PowerPoint presentation, set to a Philip Glass-esque minimalist score mixed with classic rock tunes, and end with a "YOU can do something about the [insert documentary subject here]" message? Did all these directors go to the Errol Morris school of non-fiction filmmaking?

But it's still quite good as a (mostly) clinical and detached breakdown of the economic crisis, though I do think the Matt Damon narration hurt it more than helped. Someone non-celebrity, non-super rich was probably needed so the whole thing doesn't sound like hypocrisy in action.
