Far Cry is a film adapted from the video game of the same name. The film is directed by Uwe Boll and stars Til Schweiger.

Post Re: Far Cry
This might sound like I'm taking the piss but its probably the most faithful video game movie I have seen, Boll actually got the characters and setting down perfectly.

Now that being said the story was flmsy as fuck in the game so its flimsy as fuck here and it suffers the amatuer sheen Boll seems to coat on all his movies but its a decent time passer, Schweiger is pretty funny and the humour overall works. The action is hit and miss and the main villian has some bizarre obession with a painting he is at the whole film, plus super soldiers with IDE cables made me laugh, c,mon lads spring for a SATA connection at least!

Boll's best film, never thought I would use Boll in a positive sentence but there it is.

It's probably not a stretch to say that this is the best Uwe Boll film I have seen to date. Now granted, I have only seen three (Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead and this), but at least this one was much less unintentionally funny as the other two. Of course it still was in parts (Udo Kier's not-su-subtle Hitler-villain wannabe), but it felt like most of the humor was actually intentional. Not that a lot of it worked, but still. I like Til Schweiger and he does the best he can with his character, never seeming to take the whole thing seriously and just having a ball with it.

That said, the action is really really unspectacular and mostly slow, the editing is as horrible as in other Boll films and the score sucked too. It fails on most technical levels, but provides bits and pieces of fun here and there.
