This is another unsuccessful Saw rip-off with a pretty ridiculous plot, some nice bloody scenes and a solid leading performance by Stellan Skarsgard. Selma Blair as the psycho killer isn't bad either, though she does go a bit over the top. It was a nice touch making the protagonist gay and the ending is rather unexpected if you ask me, but overall, it is just a dull film that really plays it for the shocks while trying to come across as if it were making some sort of a deep message. In fact, it just wants to grab the viewers' attention through bloody scenes.
