DANCE OF THE DEAD - 7/10 ( B )
A solid teen horror comedy. I was expecting just a tad more but overall wasn't disappointed and would recommend it.

Re: Dance of the Dead
C+
I'm a sucker for fun flicks like this and this promised something like Shaun of the Dead with teens. I at least expected some bloody fun and trash. It was alright afterall, but I certainly wasn't enjoying myself at this film as I hoped to.
I mean with all it's commitment to being smart and funny, it actually was a pretty harmless and banal flick. It wasn't nearly as bloody and outrageous as hoped for. Yes, it certainly had its moments, especially during the crazy showdown at the "zombie prom", but most of the stuff leading up to it, simply wasn't inventive or funny enough. It's like the makers watched all the good horror comedies/zombie comedies and figured: "Hey, how about we take all the essential elements from those films and recycle them in a prom setting without adding anything new whatsoever?!" It wasn't bad either, most of the time it just was...kinda there. I certainly can see it being fun watching with friends over some beer and nachos, but it doesn't really have a lot of rewatchability and there are a LOT of very similar, yet certainly better films to pick from.
