Quote:
The Deaths of Ian Stone is a 2007 horror film directed by Dario Piana. It stars Mike Vogel, Christina Cole, Jaime Murray, and Michael Dixon.

The story centers on an American man living in Britain, Ian Stone (Vogel), who is killed each day by mysterious beings. He then enters a new existence, unaware of his prior lives. When he begins to remember past existences, he is once again in danger of being killed, with each death more gruesome than the last.

B+/A-

The first 40-50 minutes are a real rollercoaster to me. Very entertaining, suspenseful and creepy at times, I never knew what was coming next. The events unfolded nicely, the surprises were there and the whole thing certainly didn't drag as it was one of the best-paced films of the festival (some should learn from it). Once you arrive in the second part of the film and know the big mystery, it slows down and my interest waned a little since it degenerated into an action-horror flick, unlike the suspense-horror I witnessed in the first part of the film. The ending is just a bit too clichéd. Still, very good on the whole, it could have been excellent with some tweaking. I am one of the few people who loved The Forgotten (starring Julianne Moore) and this one is a bit in the vein of that one at least during its beginning. It's like The Forgotten mixed with The Butterfly Effect.

I finally got around to watching it and I thought it was alright. It was well-made and had very nice atmosphere, but I can't say I was overly interested in it.

I'm surprised you loved it so much Lecter. Though I'm with you on The Forgotten. I loved that one too.

Grade: 6/10 (C+)
