 Kids Kids Quote: Kids is a 1995 drama film written by Harmony Korine and directed by Larry Clark.
The film features Chloë Sevigny, Leo Fitzpatrick, Justin Pierce, Harold Hunter, and Rosario Dawson, all of them in their debut performances. The film is centered on a day in the life of a group of sexually active teenagers in New York City and their unrestrained behavior towards sex and substance abuse (alcohol and other drugs) during the era of HIV in the mid-1990s.
Kids created considerable controversy upon its release in 1995, and caused much public debate over its artistic merit, even receiving an NC-17 rating from the MPAA. It was later released without a rating.

Ehhh....I expected much more. It focused on shock-out moments rather than actually educating on what really goes on. But it was watchable. And some of the acting was very impressive, especially from child-unknowns.

Re: Kids I appreciated the message, but the style was a mess. I think it was a good idea for Clark to cast unknowns which almost makes the viewer feel like this is really happening. But by the end of the film, I could've cared less about the characters and I ended up laughing when the closing credits came up.

Re: Kids I just watched this because I was curious about what else Harmony Korine's done since I saw Spring Breakers a few months ago. Crazy guy is crazy.
Man, this was a jarring movie, I guess I'm attracted to any film in which the main message is "stupid kids are fucking evil".

Re: Kids I saw this after I watched Spring Breakers too. It was nice seeing some familiar faces (wish Rosario Dawson was in it a little more), and maaaaan that main kid made me pissed.

Re: Kids I haven't watched this in Forever, but I can recall just disgust with the guy taking advantage of the girl at the end Chloe Sevigny. That was not a good moment. I'd probably hate the film completely today. I'll need to rewatch it and see it how it goes.

Re: Kids I saw this in theaters in 1995. This movie was so controversial when it came out, although I remember finding the controversy silly because I saw it and I was just like...um, this isn't how all teenagers in this day and age act, sorry.
