This one is very much recommended to all fans of good, gory all-school horror (baumer, BKB, Dark Shape, Zing, Joe...you all simply need to see this!).
This one got a lot of applause during the showing at the Fantasy Film Festival where I've seen it a year ago. It's definitely made for horror fans, as appearances by Kane Hodder, Robwert Englund and in particular by Tony Todd (watch out for that hilarious cameo!). The film never truly takes itself seriously and plays the whole thing very much tongue-in-cheek with the style of 80's horror. There's blood and gore APLENTY, T&A and a whole lot of humor. The film plays on the clichés, stereotypical scenes/characters and remains entertaining all throughout.

Re: Hatchet
Insanely gorey but like Lecter said very tongue in cheek. The ending pissed me off but otherwise a damn good old school horror movie with "caracatures" I chould actually care about to boot.

Re: Hatchet
The gore effects are impressive, but it really doesn't do enough with its snarky attitude towards horror films. The tongue may be firmly planted in cheek, but the mouth ain't moving.
