The Hurricane
The HurricaneQuote: The Hurricane is a 1999 biographical film directed by Norman Jewison, and starring Denzel Washington. The script was adapted by Armyan Bernstein and Dan Gordon from the books Lazarus and the Hurricane by Sam Chaiton and Terry Swinton and The Sixteenth Round by Rubin "Hurricane" Carter.
The film received positive reviews, but has been criticized for inaccuracies by some media outlets and partisans of Carter's trials.

It's a fine example of when a performance makes the movie. It joins Capote, Erin Brockovich and Ray in this category. Washington is great. Not the best in his year (that was Kevin Spacey in American Beauty), but still one of Washington's three best performances ever. Very impressive. Other than that, the movie is very average.

Re: The Hurricane
Yeah, Denzel is pretty great, but the rest of the movie is kinda lame. Liev is always welcome, though.
