Quote:
Badlands is a 1973 American crime drama film written and directed by Terrence Malick, starring Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek. Warren Oates and Ramon Bieri are also featured. Malick has a small speaking part although he does not receive an acting credit.

The story, though fictional, is loosely based on the real-life murder spree of Charles Starkweather and his girlfriend, Caril Ann Fugate, in 1958.

A-/B+

Pretty good killers on the run film. Well shot and paced, well written, well acted for the most part. Not much more to say. It's... veyr good.

Yeah, it's not up to Malick's usual standard of orgiastic visuals, but it's still very good. It's exactly as you'd expect a Malick-directed Starkweather/Fugate film to be: patient, contemplative, deeply spiritual, and punctuated with moments of extreme violence.

It's no Thin Red Line, but really, what is?

Just watched this for the first time, didn't really like it that much surprisingly. For some reason the voiceover irritated me.
