 Jeepers Creepers
Jeepers Creepers Quote: Jeepers Creepers is a 2001 horror film written by Samuel Bradley and directed by Victor Salva. The movie takes its name from the 1938 song "Jeepers Creepers" which is featured in the film. Surprisingly good. B+

So cliched, worst type of film. Deaths arent even interesting, and the ending is horrible. Thank God the actor switched to comedy because he was laughable in this film, and I dont mean the dodgeball way.
I rarely gives F, but this stunk

I suppose that matters if we're watching a snuff film, but I digress.
Despite not generally being my cup of tea, I thought the first half was well-done, funny and genuinely spooky, before the whole thing falls apart.

I agree, I actually liked it until they decided to go in the hole. I just new that it was going to be stupid. No lets not call the cops or anything, I'm going to investigate. the idea of the creature was interesting though, I'll give you that.
Allright, I'll give it a D+. I've seen worst.

Interesting little horror film that is half genuinely frightening mystery and half balls out monster flick with one of the best, most mean spirited endings in modern horror history. Salva has a really nice eye, and despite his rather disturbing history, he is an incredible talent behind the lens. This film features some of the better direction you'll see in the new age of horror. Some great gore and some solid acting round it out. The sequel is a bitter disappointment. A-

Jeepers Creepers is definitely one of the best monster flicks and horror flicks overall of the past years. If the whole movie was similar to the first 40 minutes of it, I'd be ready to procilaim it a new horror masterpiece. The beginning really belongs to some of the most suspenseful and tense minutes of horror cinema ever. Incredibly well shot and created with great suspense. Once we start seeing more of the Creeper, the movie goes significantly downhill, but is still fun at least. I have to admit that the dnding definitely had some balls and it was definitely a refreshing change from the usual unrealistic happy endings. Creeper is a great villain, but he's at his best when he is not seen. Still, a great little horror flick. The sequel is slightly worse, but still plenty of fun.

Actually better than expected for this type of movie.
If it had fined-tuned and tweaked various things, it'd be even better.
I'd give it a B- or so.

 Re: Jeepers Creepers
The first 30 minutes of this film are so fantastic. The sense of rural isolation. The Duel/Joy Ride style road-rage tension. The first glimpse of the Creeper as a big, obscure figure in the distance dropping bodies down the drainpipe. True armrest-clenching tension and fright. It is still entertaining once it reveals its true colors as a B creature feature, but it dials down several notches.
By shifting the focus from a sympathetic brother and sister to a school bus full of homoerotic spastics and removing the Creeper's more indelible "human" elements, such as his enormous rig, the sequel cuts loose almost everything neat and interesting in the first film.

 Re: Jeepers Creepers
Agreed completely. When I first watched this, I loved the first 40 minutes or thereabouts, until his turns into a winged-ghoul, and then I hated it. The first half is a "B+", then it goes off into "D" territory, winding up with a mediocre "C" overall. Utterly disappointing.

 Re: Jeepers Creepers
This is honestly one of the very few horror movies that scared the shit out of me when I was younger. Being that I was in the third grade back when this came out and not having a computer, I went into this completely blind not knowing what to expect.
Sadly, I wish we still had that surprise element today, but unless your really patient it's hard to avoid spoilers. That's what so great about it though.
Anyways, they need to make more old school creature features like this. Like most have already said the first half hour is truly frightening and I love the build up towards the reveal. The second half might not be as good, but it's still very well done IMO.
The creature effects are pretty solid for the most part and I enjoyed the encounters with the Creeper with maybe the exception of the Matrixy car bit which could have been done better, but is still entertaining to say the least.
The ending is easily the most memorable scene, because of just how dark and fucked up it is, but to this day I still appreciate them going in a different, more sinister direction. Not all horror movies need happy endings.

 Re: Jeepers Creepers
I really enjoy this movie. One of the better horror films from the 2000s, in my opinion. (B+)
(Justin Long was also totally adorable in this movie)
