Quote:
Not Another Teen Movie is a 2001 American comedy film directed by Joel Gallen, released on December 14, 2001 by Columbia Pictures. It is a parody film of teen movies which have accumulated in Hollywood over the last few decades. While the general plot is based on She's All That, Pretty in Pink and 10 Things I Hate About You, the film is also filled with allusions to numerous other films such as Bring It On, American Pie, Cruel Intentions, American Beauty, and The Breakfast Club. A single was released alongside the movie titled "Prom Tonight" and reached #86 on the Billboard Top 100.

I wanna see this again.

Hiiiilarious.

Post Not Another Teen Movie - Crude Comedy Classic!
I felt really blessed to have seen four* low-comedy classics in 2001. Not Another Teen Movie is a super crude parody of the 80's and 90's teen movie genre. It aims for the bottom of the barrel and scores a direct hit, skewering teen movies even better than Scary Movie did scary movies. A largely no-name cast (with the notable exceptions of Randy Quaid (!), Molly Ringwald (!!), and perhaps Lacey Chabert (for all you ex-Party of Fiver's)), sets up the greatest hits of teen movie cliches, from Breakfast Club (including the original detention teacher) to American Pie. This movie is super gross (if that old lady's kissing scene doesn't put the fear of god into you...), super crude&cruel, and most importantly, super funny.

7 out of 5.

*The 2001 Low-Comedy Hall of Fame:
- Freddy Got Fingered
- Bubble Boy
- Zoolander
- Not Another Teen Movie

(...and if you think it's easy to make a 5-star low-comedy movie, ask the SNL alumni... this is truly an unprecedented year!)

Only saw it once, but I remember liking it a lot more than I expected. I would love to see this again.

A bad, cheap, mostly unfunny spoof that tries way too hard. This is more similar to Scary Movie 2 than to Scary Movie. It is still fun to watch with a large group of friends at a party, but other than that...

I must say, having seen no more than 20 minutes while channel surfing, that Lecter is right. Eww. Poor excuse for a movie.

As I mentioned to Dr. Lecter above, I feel really sad for those who didn't enjoy this movie...

Not that I'm questioning your opinions, just that I'm sorry you couldn't get the same enjoyment out of this movie that I did. I honestly loved it, and laughed so hard my stomach hurt the next day after seeing it...

This wasn't terribly great.

I do admit to laughing when Mia Kirshner did some of her various weird crap shenanigans a few times. And also when she fell through the stairs. That was kind of it, though.

Bump... for this under-appreciated comic gem of movie parodies.

It's certainly better than the crap spoofs they do now. This one is actually a legit spoof and has some good and clever bits.

I expected this to be total shit like Meet the Spartans or something, but I wanted a fun watch so I thought 'why not'. What I got was a very funny and breezy spoof, with a young Chris Evans and a ton of on-point gags. One of the best spoof comedies I've seen. The only reasons I see for people not enjoying this movie is pomposity and snobbishness, and not intending to enjoy it in the first place.

This was one of the first "adult" movies I got to watch. And I love it to this day.

Possibly the best parody with "movie" in the title.

Crap. Waste of time. Other than the title there was nothing funny about this movie.
