Thirteen Ghosts![Image](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7d/Thir13en_Ghosts_poster.JPG) Quote: Thirteen Ghosts (also known as Thir13en Ghosts, 13 Ghosts, and Thirthirteenen Ghosts) is a 2001 American horror film directed by Steve Beck. It is a remake of the 1960 film of the same name by William Castle. It follows the remake of another one of Castle's films, House on Haunted Hill. Dark Castle's second best film. I don't understand the hate for it. B+

This gave me a headache.
Like, seriously. I was in physical pain watching it because of the incessantly jarring quick cuts and noises.

The ghost designs were interesting, and the makeup was top notch.
Other than that, though... bleh. Terrible writing, directing, acting, and some of the most annoying characters i've ever seen. A downright laughable ending, too (yeah, i'm gonna play DJ with all of these buttons on this control panel and magically get the house to do exactly what I want it to do).

It's probably Dark Caste's weakest effort, despite the most intriguing premise. The idea of being trapped in a house with 13 vicious ghosts is a cool one, but the execution is only partially successful. I admit there are a few downright creepy moments and the ghosts design is top-notch. I loved the different personalities and looks being given to the ghosts, but they were a bit underused. All in all, it moves along smoothly until the laughably predictable ending.

Guilty secret: as a twelve-year old the trailers and poster for this gave me nightmares. My imagination absolutely ran with the concept of being trapped in a house full of invisible bloodthirsty ghosts and I made this movie into something much scarier than it actually was. Like when I went onto the website and read about the concept of the "Torso" ghost, I imagined a torso that moved like an actual body without legs or a head that would just float up and strangle the fuck out of me. Instead, it was a very silly design.
I blame it on the frighteningly good marketing and the much creepier Dark Castle entry House on Haunted Hill.
